Tarik Sadouma
Tarik Sadouma is a Dutch-Egyptian conceptual artist born in 1979 in Amsterdam. His art revolves around the clash and copulation of civilizations and the trauma that is the result of being torn between two distinct and often contradictory cultures. He lived in Cairo for eight years and now- after the uprising in 2011- floats between Amsterdam, Beirut and Amman. In 2013 a documentary called ‘Plastic Harem’ was made about his work and the convergence of sexuality and art in the Middle East. His style is ‘Gonzo performance’, based on his own deep involvement in the many fluid layers of the Middle East.
